Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is seeking a Design Manager to lead the delivery of multidisciplinary water infrastructure design projects in the UK. You will coordinate design across major water and wastewater schemes, working with project managers, engineers, clients and external partners to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality outputs.

This hands-on role blends technical leadership, design management and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified and Chartered Engineer status; extensive water/wastewater project delivery experience.
• Knowledge of UK water industry, engineering standards, NEC contracts and CDM Regulations including Principal Designer duties.
• Significant experience in design governance, technical assurance, stakeholder management and resource coordination.

Responsibilities

• Design delivery and management across water and wastewater schemes; manage design workstreams and programmes.
• Provide technical oversight and coordinate design packages with multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to governance, assurance, risk management and client relations across programmes.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients and external partners to ensure quality outputs.
• Mentor engineers and Design Managers to build a high-performing team culture.
