Job summary

SMS Environmental is seeking a Water Hygiene Engineer to join our team in the Swindon/Newbury area. You will perform planned maintenance and water hygiene services across local sites, with training provided to grow your skills in water hygiene and Legionella control.

The role involves flushing, sampling, and temperature monitoring, with a clear path to develop expertise while working in a supportive environment and managing your time effectively.

Qualifications

• Some experience in water hygiene, plumbing, facilities management or a similar technical environment.
• Experience carrying out planned maintenance or routine checks is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water systems.
• Complete routine flushing and water sampling.
• Record water temperatures and system checks.
• Identify and report defects or non-compliances.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and follow health and safety procedures.
• Work with the team on Legionella control tasks.
