Job summary
SMS Environmental is seeking a Water Hygiene Engineer to join our team across the Oxfordshire area, carrying out planned preventative maintenance and water hygiene services on customer sites in the local area.
The role includes routine flushing, sampling and temperature monitoring, helping clients maintain safe and compliant water systems. Training will be provided to develop knowledge in ACOP L8 and HSG274, with career development support and a Monday–Friday 8am–4pm schedule.
Qualifications
- Must be practical, reliable and keen to learn.
- Full UK driving licence required or strongly preferred.
- Interest in developing a career in water hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water systems
- Completing routine flushing and water sampling
- Taking and recording water temperatures
- Carrying out routine checks on water systems
- Identifying and reporting potential issues, defects or non-compliances
- Accurately recording completed work using company systems
- Working on customer sites and maintaining client relationships
- Following health and safety procedures
- Supporting water hygiene and Legionella control activities
