Responsibilities

  • Disinfect mains water systems and perform tank cleans.
  • Monitor clients’ air and water systems for compliance.

  • Carry out plumbing work as needed.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join a well-established water treatment/water hygiene company who offer a wide range of water services throughout the UK. The company are currently seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team based in the Slough area. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their extensive knowledge and experience in delivering legionella compliance tasks to a varied site base and in line with the ACOP L8 guidelines. Applications from Reading, Newbury, Marlow, Watford, and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications
  • Good educational, chemical, and technical background and full conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
  • Hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Packages.
Key Responsibilities
  • Disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, changing and replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
  • Monitoring clients’ air and water systems and ensuring that they comply with the current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold‑water systems and cooling towers.
  • Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
  • Interpreting the results and maintaining and installing dosing systems, etc.
  • Providing accurate reports and maintaining paperwork.
  • Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.
  • Carrying out plumbing work as and when required.

Overall, the successful applicant will be commercially focused, flexible, and reliable and can work independently and under pressure and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirement.
