Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is partnering with a growing Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance company to recruit 2-3 Water Hygiene Engineers for Bristol, Bath and wider South West regions.

You will work across commercial and secured environments, performing planned water hygiene and Legionella tasks, with travel across the South West and South Coast as required. Full training is provided for transferable skills.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in water hygiene or related mechanical/plumbing background.
• Potential for Legionella training and certification to be a plus.
• Able to work across customer sites including MOD/Naval environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned water hygiene and Legionella compliance tasks.
• Monitor temperatures of hot and cold water systems and perform sampling.
• Inspect and service TMVs, clean showerheads, inspect cold water storage tanks.
• Complete site documentation and risk/compliance reports.
• Travel across Bristol, Bath, South West and South Coast as required.

Water Hygiene Engineer

Location: Bristol, Bath & South West / South Coast

Example Recruitment Group is working with an established and growing Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance company that is looking to recruit 2-3 Water Hygiene Engineers across the South West.

The main focus will be around Bristol and Bath, with travel across the wider South and South Coast depending on client requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Water Hygiene Engineers, but our client is equally interested in people with a commercial plumbing or similar mechanical background who have the right attitude and are keen to develop a long-term career within the Water Hygiene and Legionella industry.

Full training can be provided for candidates who have the right transferable skills and approach.

The Role

As a Water Hygiene Engineer, you will work across a range of commercial and secure client environments, including MOD and Naval sites, carrying out planned Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance works.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems
• Water sampling and collection
• TMV inspection, servicing and failsafe testing
• Showerhead cleaning and disinfection
• Cold Water Storage Tank inspections
• Tank cleaning and disinfection
• Flushing of little-used outlets
• Calorifier inspections and temperature checks
• Basic remedial plumbing works where required
• Completing accurate site documentation and compliance reports
• Identifying defects and potential remedial works
• Working in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274 and relevant Water Hygiene guidance
• Maintaining a professional approach when working on sensitive and secure client sites
• Travelling throughout Bristol, Bath, the South West and South Coast as required

The Candidate

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have previous experience as a:

• Water Hygiene Engineer / Technician
• Legionella Technician
• Water Treatment Engineer
• Commercial Plumber
• Maintenance Plumber
• Plumbing & Heating Engineer
• Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Previous Water Hygiene experience would be advantageous; however, it is not essential for the right candidate.

Our client is particularly interested in people who are reliable, professional and have a good attitude. If you have previous commercial plumbing experience and are happy to learn, they are willing to provide the training and development required to move into Water Hygiene.

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of some of the client sites, including MOD and Naval environments, successful candidates will need to be suitable for enhanced security vetting.

This may include:

• Enhanced DBS checks
• Security Clearance (SC)
• Additional client or site-specific security checks

Existing SC Clearance or Enhanced DBS would be advantageous, although candidates who are eligible to obtain the required clearance will also be considered.

What We're Looking For

• Have previous Water Hygiene, plumbing or mechanical experience
• Have a good practical understanding of commercial water systems
• Be willing to undertake additional Water Hygiene and Legionella training
• Have a positive, professional and reliable attitude
• Be comfortable working independently and managing a mobile workload
• Be happy travelling across the South West and South Coast
• Be comfortable working within MOD, Naval and other secure environments
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Be able to pass the necessary background and security checks
