Job summary

AMI Consulting is seeking an experienced Water Service Engineer to cover commercial sites across London and the Home Counties. The role combines Water Hygiene compliance with Water Treatment and system analysis for a broad technical exposure.

Key duties include tank inspections, sampling, TMV servicing, and maintaining water quality and logs. A full UK driving licence and strong client-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year's experience as Water Service Engineer, Water Hygiene Engineer or Water Treatment Engineer.
• Experience with routine Water Hygiene monitoring.
• Knowledge of Cold Water Storage Tank inspections and cleaning.
• Experience with temperature monitoring, sampling and TMV servicing.
• Understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Cold Water Storage Tank inspections and cleaning.
• Perform closed heating and chilled water system analysis.
• Conduct cooling tower water analysis and chemical treatment.
• Monitor hot and cold water temperatures and sample for analysis.
• Prepare and submit samples to laboratories and maintain records.

Job description

Our client, an established and growing Water Treatment and Water Hygiene company, is looking to recruit an experienced Water Service Engineer to cover commercial sites throughout London and the Home Counties. This is a varied field-based position combining Water Hygiene compliance with Water Treatment and system analysis, making it an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop a broad range of technical experience.

The Role

• Cold Water Storage Tank inspections
• Cold Water Storage Tank and down-service cleaning and chlorination
• Closed heating and chilled water system analysis
• Cooling tower water analysis
• Chemical treatment of closed water systems
• Hot and cold water temperature monitoring
• Showerhead and hose cleaning, cleansing and descaling
• Flushing of infrequently used outlets
• TMV servicing, fail-safe testing and disinfection
• Collection of water samples for microbiological and chemical analysis
• Preparing and submitting samples to laboratories
• Monitoring water quality and identifying potential areas of non-compliance
• Maintaining accurate site records and Water Hygiene logbooks
• Completing electronic service reports
• Liaising professionally with customers and site representatives
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274 and relevant industry guidance

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year's experience working as a Water Service Engineer, Water Hygiene Engineer or Water Treatment Engineer
• Experience carrying out routine Water Hygiene monitoring
• Knowledge of Cold Water Storage Tank inspections and cleaning
• Experience with temperature monitoring, sampling and TMV servicing
• Closed-system and/or cooling-tower analysis experience would be highly advantageous
• Understanding of chemical Water Treatment would be beneficial
• Good working knowledge of ACoP L8 and HSG274
• Strong practical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and customer-facing ability
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Full UK Driving Licence

Package

• Basic Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 DOE
