Job summary

The City of East Peoria is hiring a Water Laborer/Driver to maintain and rehabilitate the water distribution system. This union position requires a valid Class D Water Operator License and a valid CDL with air brake endorsement, with knowledge of drinking water regulations.

Responsibilities include installing water mains, locating leaks, handling water/sewer service calls, reading meters, and processing service connections. Candidates must reside within 25 miles and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Must reside within twenty-five (25) miles of the East Peoria corporate limits
• Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement at time of application
• Successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening, and comprehensive background check
• Class D Water License, preferred

Responsibilities

• Installing new sections of water mains
• Locating and repairing leaks or breaks in piping
• Addressing issues related to water and sewer service calls
• Investigating customer concerns, gathering billing survey information, performing meter readings, and initiating or terminating water and sewer services
• Other service duties as assigned
