Job summary

Scottish Water in the central Forth region seeks a Wastewater Treatment Operative to join the Forth West team. You’ll operate treatment processes, carry out maintenance, and help ensure our wastewater services are safe, reliable and compliant.

You’ll work with a motivated team, respond to reactive work, and complete reporting while following safety policies. The role combines hands-on operation with collaborative problem solving across sites.

Qualifications

• Full, valid driving licence required due to travel across sites.
• Team player with ability to work independently when needed.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to take responsibility for tasks.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours standby rota.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wastewater treatment works and assets; perform routine and essential maintenance.
• Respond to reactive issues, investigate on-site and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Complete reporting to measure performance and support improvement.
• Follow all safety systems, perform checks on plant, equipment and vehicles.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
