Job summary

Scottish Water is seeking a Waste Water Process Scientist to join our Bioresource team in Aberdeen. You will work closely with operational teams and stakeholders to optimise treatment processes and drive continuous improvement across our facilities.

You will develop and apply online instrumentation, process monitoring and control technologies, investigate issues via root cause analysis, and deliver practical, sustainable solutions that enhance performance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience applying RCA to wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to analyze data and identify root causes.
• Familiarity with online instrumentation and process control.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proactive in driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical process support for wastewater and sludge operations at the Nigg bioresource center.
• Investigate process failures and implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience, and efficiency.
• Develop and apply online instrumentation and monitoring technologies.
• Collaborate with operations and stakeholders to deliver practical solutions.
• Use data and innovations to support operational excellence.
