Job summary

AECOM in Scotland is seeking an Associate Process Engineer to contribute to a fast-growing water team across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth and Inverness. You will work on major Scottish Water projects within a flexible hybrid model and lead technical efforts across process design, optimization and project delivery.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and represent the firm in client meetings, driving innovative solutions and value for communities across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered Engineer status with IChemE or CIWEM
• Extensive experience in water treatment and technical delivery
• Experience leading feasibility, optioneering and detailed design for water treatment processes
• Ability to mentor, check and verify technical work
• Key contributor to proposals and in winning work
• Knowledge of HAZOP and safety/regulatory frameworks (DSEAR)

Responsibilities

• Develop and check process flow diagrams, mass balances, PIDs, operating and control philosophies
• Survey existing processes/equipment and perform asset surveys
• Produce client deliverables and ensure compliance with design standards and legislation
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to secure stakeholder buy-in
• Mentor junior staff and delegate tasks effectively
• Represent AECOM in technical meetings and coordinate multi-discipline inputs

Education

Chemical Engineering degree

Chartered Engineer (IChemE or CIWEM)
