Job summary

ABM is a leading global facilities services provider based in Belfast. We are seeking a Plant Operator to oversee wastewater treatment and related processes at our Belfast sites. You will monitor plant performance, carry out routine checks, collect samples and ensure compliance with COSHH and environmental permits.

The role offers a full-time, permanent contract, 39 hours per week, with a competitive salary of £32,887.90 per annum and benefits across health, safety, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in water/wastewater or equivalent experience.
• Experience with safe plant operation and COSHH controls.
• Strong numeracy and ability to record process readings.
• IT literacy with standard MS Office and reporting systems.
• Clear writing and teamwork; full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant per site procedures.
• Carry out routine checks, record readings and trends.
• Maintain deionised water systems and chemical handling.
• Respond to alarms and escalate as needed to maintain safety.
• Provide clear handovers and assist maintenance teams.
