Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking an Operational Technician to join our Waste Water Recycling team in Swadlincote. You will perform hands-on operational and maintenance tasks across sites, taking samples, analysing results and recording performance data.

The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with standby and a call‑out rota. You will work with a company van, receive safety gear, and undertake training including Level 2 – Waste Water Process Operator qualification, requiring a full driving

Qualifications

• Level 2 – Waste Water Process Operator qualification.
• Full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Keep sewage treatment works and pumping stations running smoothly; carry out routine operational and maintenance activities.
• Take process samples, analyse results and record performance data.
• Support first‑line asset maintenance and contribute to site improvements.
• Improve energy efficiency and optimise site performance while complying with safety standards.
• Plan and deliver daily tasks, handle alarms and on‑call responses, and collaborate on major capital projects.
