Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Water is seeking a Modeller/Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join our Wastewater Team in Peterborough/Epsom/London and contribute to hydraulic modelling frameworks with leading UK Water Companies.

You will support the development of discharge reduction plans, catchment strategies and ensure outputs meet required standards while guiding project teams through complex programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience in hydraulic modelling and catchment planning.
• Proven ability to deliver projects independently.
• Experience with InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange.

Responsibilities

• Support with Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan and flood alleviation projects.
• Develop and deliver wastewater catchment strategies and solutions.
• Ensure outputs comply with standards and specifications.
• Help manage modelling leads and project managers on projects.
• Assist in tender responses and fee estimates.
• Supervise and develop staff; provide guidance for their growth.
• Contribute to technical innovation.

Our collaborative and multi-disciplinary team is one of the largest in the UK, providing water and wastewater infrastructure services alongside drainage design, SuDS and surface water management.

Our wide variety of clients span across the UK and internationally and include water companies, local authorities, highways / rail authorities, and developers.

It's an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business with unprecedented investment in the water industry. Due to continued framework successes, we seek to recruit a Modeller/Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join our Wastewater Team in Peterborough/Epsom/ London to be part of our hydraulic modelling frameworks, with leading UK Water Companies.

Your role

• Supporting with leading Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan, flood alleviation and environmental solution development projects.
• Supporting the development and delivery of wastewater catchment strategies and solutions.
• Responsible for the quality of outputs and compliance with standards & specifications.
• Ability to manage and/or support modelling leads, project managers, to manage projects and programmes of works.
• Support in the development of tender responses and fee estimates.
• Supervising and developing staff and providing guidance to support their professional development.
• Contributing towards technical innovation.

About you

• Effective communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in hydraulic modelling, catchment planning and solution development.
• Experience using InfoWorks ICM, GIS softwares and ICM Exchange.
• Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
• Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects independently.
• Ability to either originate and/or check the work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client.
