Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Belfast is seeking a Hydraulic Modeller to join our Wastewater Team and contribute to a wide range of water and environmental projects. You will develop and verify 1D/2D sewer models, analyze flood risk, and generate technical outputs for clients across the UK and internationally.

You will use InfoWorks ICM, MapInfo and ArcGIS to build robust models, while collaborating with engineers and environmental specialists.

Qualifications

• Understanding of UK water industry, environment and sustainability.
• Experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
• Proactive self-starter with a desire to learn and develop technically.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• To develop computer models, to investigate flooding and environmental problems and generation of outline solutions.
• Build, verification and analysis of hydraulic sewer models outputs.
• Development of 1D and 2D models to investigate flood risk and flooding mechanisms.
• Data handling and analysis.
• Use of GIS software (MapInfo, ArcGIS) to support understanding of complex environmental problems.
• Development of reports and other project deliverables.
• Survey planning and survey supervision.
• Support junior team members to solve environmental problems for clients.

We are looking for candidates who have relevant years of experience in the area with good analytical skills and a desire to learn.

Your role

• Previous demonstrable experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
• Proactive self-starter, with a desire to learn and develop technically and be working towards a professional qualification.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
