We are currently in the market to recruit multiple Wastewater (Hydraulic) Modellers for various major long-term frameworks across the UK.

In addition to a range of long-term programmes across the UK water industry, RPS and Tetra Tech have successfully won a £100 million single-award framework from United Utilities to support river health improvements in the Northwest of England.

RPS has worked with United Utilities for over 20 years on innovative projects. As we approach AMP8, this is an exciting time in the water industry. Collaborating with passionate organisations offers our team the chance to create positive change.

Under this 10-year framework, RPS will focus on program optimisation, developing solutions, and selecting the best options based on value, low carbon footprint, and cost. Our mission is to deliver exceptional water services to foster a resilient, eco-friendly, and thriving Northwest.

About The Team:

RPS Water Consulting comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy services to our Water Industry clients, supporting business planning and delivery. This industry offers challenges and opportunities that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork.

In addition to the United Utilities framework, we work with several major water companies across the UK, with a broad portfolio of long-term framework agreements.

Our Water Consultancy has a range of AMP8 programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career stability and legacy opportunities.

About You:

Candidates should have experience with urban drainage projects and proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and relevant GIS software.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork skills, the ability to integrate into a team, and potential to mentor and lead modeling personnel, prioritising excellent client service.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Construct, verify, and maintain wastewater models.
  2. Deliver feasibility studies, use studies, optioneering, and assessments for wastewater networks.
  3. Ensure quality and compliance of modelling outputs.
  4. Manage small projects.
  5. Build and maintain collaborative client relationships.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members and provide technical support.
  7. Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Relevant experience in modelling within a consultancy or water company.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Visual Basic.
  • Experience with InfoWorks ICM and bolt-on packages.
  • Knowledge of GIS systems (MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Ability to handle large datasets.
  • Experience with water-focused data analysis packages like InfoWorks or InfoAsset.
  • Understanding of the UK water industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant technical subject; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
  • Chartered status or working towards it for senior roles.
  • Membership or near membership with professional bodies like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM.
