Job summary

Network Plus in the UK is seeking a Design Engineer to produce wastewater designs for Northumbrian Water and other UK utilities, based in Worsley. You will contribute to safe, compliant, and cost-effective infrastructure that supports essential services and helps develop your technical expertise.

You will collaborate across internal and client teams, manage design phases from setup to construction, produce AutoCAD drawings, and ensure CDM 2015 compliance.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualifications desirable; good experience considered.
• Experience in the water industry on wastewater projects.
• Proven experience in wastewater, CSOs, stormwater & networks.
• Knowledge and awareness of CDM 2015.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Teamwork and workload organisation across multiple projects.
• Willingness to mentor less experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor leading industry practices and identify trends.
• Develop high-quality concepts and seek stakeholder feedback.
• Oversee all design phases from project setup to construction administration.
• Collaborate with internal and client design teams and external consultants.
• Provide technical design support to the design team.
• Respond to issues with clients, third parties and subcontractors.
• Represent the company and arrange pre-design and walk-off meetings.
• Undertake site investigation reports and CDM documentation.
• Ensure CDM 2015 compliance throughout the design process.
• Produce detailed design and as-laid AutoCAD drawings.
• Create plan and longitudinal drawings per client specifications.
• Liaise with the client to keep the project on schedule and budget.
• Work with Project Manager and Design Manager to meet constraints.
