Job summary

United Utilities Group PLC is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the Wastewater Strategy team. You will convert complex data into clear insights to shape decisions across the wastewater network, beyond dashboards and standard reporting.

You'll work with large datasets, manipulate data in Excel, and use GIS to visualise findings for senior leaders and stakeholders. Hybrid work, permanent, full-time, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with ability to interrogate large datasets and draw insights.
• Full UK driving licence with ability to travel to sites across the North West.
• Advanced Excel skills to analyse and model data.
• Experience using GIS/geospatial data to support analysis and decision-making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills for senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interrogate large datasets to identify trends and actionable insights.
• Investigate complex business questions and determine analytical approaches.
• Exploring data from multiple perspectives to tell the story behind the numbers.
• Produce analysis that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
• Manage and manipulate data using Excel and analytical tools.
• Work with GIS/geospatial data to develop insights and visualizations.
• Respond to analytical requests from stakeholders across the business.
• Present findings clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support continuous improvement of data quality and reporting methodologies.
• Develop understanding of the wastewater network to enhance analysis.
