Job summary

Veolia Group is recruiting for an operational yard role in Stewartby, MK43 9LY. You will perform maintenance duties, bulk and repack packaged materials for treatment, and supervise drivers to ensure correct area access.

The role emphasizes health and safety, waste handling responsibilities, and compliance with environmental permits. Training and development opportunities are provided. 38 hours per week, 4 days, 7am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in an operational yard setting.
• Solid understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Experience with maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance duties and as/when required.
• Bulking of packaged material / waste for treatment.
• Repacking of packaged material for onward disposal.
• Direct visiting drivers to the correct areas - acting as reversing assistant when required.
• Report and deal with contamination, non-compliant waste / product and any spills, leaks, litter, safe stacking of packaged waste, odours or dust.
• Checking that Hazardous Waste is stored in accordance with the site environmental permit.
• Use a 2-way radio / marine band VHF.
