Job summary

Veolia Group in Rochester is hiring a Transfer station operative to work a 40-hour week from Monday to Friday, 16:00–00:30, with some bank holidays and a day in lieu. The role involves operating heavy plant after training, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with site teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in an operational environment is essential.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Mobile Plant licences (loading shovel or 360 excavator) are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Front Loading Shovel and 360-degree Excavator after training.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on mobile plant and equipment.
• Liaise with site personnel, contractors, and haulage teams.
• Maximise outgoing weights of material and load vehicles with waste.
• Control vehicle movements and operate the weighbridge.
