Job summary

Veolia Group in Widnes is seeking a dedicated driver to join our team on a full-time basis. You will operate company vans, perform daily safety checks and collect commercial waste and recycling from customer sites.

The role emphasizes timely collections, in-cab data capture and strong customer interactions. The successful candidate will have a full UK driving licence, enjoy working outdoors in all weather, and demonstrate reliable, punctual, and safety-focused work habits.

Qualifications

Full UK driving licence is required.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong health and safety awareness.
Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
Desirable: experience in waste collections or driving.

Responsibilities

Drive company vans safely and professionally in line with road traffic legislation and company procedure.
Carry out daily vehicle walk around checks and report defects.
Collect commercial waste and recycling from customer premises.
Load and unload waste containers safely and efficiently.
Ensure all collections are completed on time and in line with service schedules.
Use in-cab technology and mobile devices to complete route information and report issues.
Report contaminated bins, missed collections, access issues or customer concerns.
Maintain a high standard of health & safety at all times.
Deliver excellent customer service and represent the business professionally.
Support depot operations and assist other crews when required.
Keep vehicles and work areas clean and tidy.
Maintain good yard discipline and complete weekly stock checks.
