Job summary

Lanes Group is hiring for a role between Rochdale WWTW and Davyhulme WWTW to perform planned works solving sewer network issues. The position involves high-pressure jetting, CCTV inspections, and data entry on-site in Rochdale and Davyhulme. A strong safety mindset and willingness to work extended hours are essential.

The role offers a 50-hour week, with overtime paid at time and a half for weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays. Salary ranges from £33,136 to £39,208 per year.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Attend to customers and inform them of works and timescales.
• Inspect drainage systems for blockages, leaks or damage.
• Carry out high-pressure water jetting tasks.
• Operate jetting equipment to clear blockages in drains and sewers.
• Carry out CCTV inspections when required.
• Use laptop/tablet for data entry and reporting.
• Report safety issues in line with procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on jetting equipment.

Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company specialise in multiple divisions.

United Utilities

operates across a number of contracts across our business, predominantly wastewater network services as part of the AMP 7 period plan.
The Team support reactive and planned maintenance across the CCTV & Jetting and Civils teams, further supported by our in house Traffic Management Division and Capital Projects covering the entire UU network.

Purpose of the role:

The role available will be working between Rochdale WWTW and DavyHulme WWTW where you will be required to work on planned works solving problems on the sewer network.

HGV Class 2 desirable however not essential as training can be provided.

Location: Rochdale & Davyhulme

Hours: 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 06.00am-16.00pm)

Salary: £33,136-£39,208

Overtime rates: For weekday, weekend and Bank Holiday work paid at time and a half

Key Responsibilities:

• Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• Carry out all aspects of high pressure water jetting
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Carry out CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
