Lanes Group Ltd is seeking several Drainage Operatives to join Sapphire Utility Solutions, supporting United Utilities contracts. You will perform pre-surveys, CCTV and jetting of the drainage network, with training provided and a van supplied for work travel from home.

Ideal candidates may have drainage experience; training will be provided to right applicants. This full-time role offers 50 hours per week and weekly pay, with a company van for work use.

Qualifications

  • UK manual driving licence is mandatory with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Experience in drainage roles is essential.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Competent IT skills and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

  • You will be working closely with another Drainage Engineer to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
  • Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales.
  • Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
  • Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
  • Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
  • Competent in using an electronic device - tablet for data entry purposes.
  • Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures.

Department:

Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company specialise in multiple divisions. United Utilities operates across a number of contracts across our business, predominantly wastewater network services as part of the AMP 7 period plan. The Team support reactive and planned maintenance across the CCTV & Jetting and Civils teams, further supported by our in house Traffic Management Division and Capital Projects covering the entire UU network.

  • Salary: £34,814-£35,620 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Hours: 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, days. 06:30 - 16:30)

  • Van: will be provided for the team to use which can be taken home (for work use only)
Purpose of the role:

We are seeking several operatives to join us due to a large long term contract that Sapphire Utility Solutions have won. You will be doing pre-survey's, CCTV and jetting of the drainage network.
