Job summary

Veolia is hiring for a site-based operator at Whitemoss Landfill, Skelmersdale. The role involves operating plant equipment, directing tipping operations, and general site labouring. Overtime may be available, and the position is 45 hours per week at £13.15 per hour.

Candidates should have prior operational/manual handling experience, strong Health & Safety knowledge, and relevant licences (Forklift Telehandler; yellow plant preferred). Veolia offers enhanced leave and benefits.

Qualifications

• Similar operational / manual handling experience.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment, loading/unloading and safely disposing of hazardous waste.
• Direct vehicles to tipping location, control and organize daily tipping operation.
• Housekeeping duties including greasing/cleaning machines, litter picking, stocktaking and area cleanliness.
• General labouring around site including refuelling pumps, fence repair & site maintenance.
• Provide cover on weighbridge as required.
