Job summary

SUEZ is hiring a Team Leader at Totnes HWRC to oversee site operations, lead a team, and ensure compliance with licences, permits, and contracts. The role supports sustainable waste management and environmental goals in a hands-on, customer-facing environment.

You will manage staff, uphold safety standards, and drive a culture of recycling while working a 40-hour summer or 36.5-hour winter schedule. The position requires flexibility and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Team leader or supervisor experience is desirable.
• Flexible, forward-thinking approach to complete varied tasks.
• Willingness to undertake personal development and training for site operations.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage the site and all employees, ensuring full compliance.
• Maintain health and safety for all site personnel and users.
• Be accountable for the site, employees, and public on site.
• Assist members of the public in a polite and courteous manner.
• Promote recycling and divert waste from landfill.
• Report non-compliances to the site manager and complete admin reporting on time.
• Keep access roads and site clean and tidy.
• Perform other duties reasonably requested within the job scope.
