Job summary

Veolia Group in Cardiff is seeking a dedicated operative to operate a loading shovel and a 360 material handler. You will feed the picking line, inspect incoming loads, report plant defects, and carry out daily pre-use inspections while maintaining high safety standards around moving vehicles.

Role requires certification for operating mobile plant, a proactive attitude to housekeeping, and the ability to work as part of a team in a busy transfer facility. Clamp truck licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience operating mobile plant in waste/recycling/industrial setting.
• Certification for loading shovel and/or 360 material handler required.
• Good health and safety understanding in operational environments.
• Ability to inspect incoming waste loads and work safely near moving vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Operate loading shovel and 360 material handler.
• Feed picking line and inspect loads.
• Report defects on plant and carry out daily pre-use inspections.
• Work around moving vehicles with traffic management.
• Assist with housekeeping and fire prevention.
