Job summary

Gap Personnel is recruiting a 360 Wheeled Machine Operator / Front Shovel Loader in Cardiff. This long-term role offers daytime hours with excellent overtime rates and a 4 on 4 off pattern.

You will operate heavy plant equipment, support site operations, and ensure safety at all times. A CPCS or NPORS ticket is required, CSCS preferred, and reliability is essential. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Valid CPCS or NPORS ticket for 360 wheeled excavator/front shovel.
• Experience operating heavy plant in construction or industrial settings.
• Strong site safety awareness and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate 360 wheeled machinery or front‑shovel loading equipment.
• Support daily site operations in a heavy industrial environment.
• Load vehicles, move materials, and maintain safe working areas.
• Carry out daily machine checks and report defects.

Hours

4on 4 off 6am-6pm

Pay Rates

• £13.04 per hour basic
• £19.56 overtime (after 8 hours) & Saturdays
• £26.08 on Sundays

We are recruiting an experienced 360 Wheeled Machine Operator or Front Shovel Loader Operator to join a busy heavy-plant environment in the Cardiff area. This is a long-term opportunity with consistent daytime hours and excellent overtime rates.

The Role

• Operating 360 wheeled machinery or front-shovel loading equipment
• Supporting daily site operations in a heavy industrial environment
• Loading vehicles, moving materials, and maintaining safe work areas
• Carrying out daily machine checks and reporting any defects
• Working as part of a reliable, safety-focused team

Skills & Qualifications Needed

• Valid CPCS or NPORS ticket for 360 Wheeled Excavator or Front Shovel
• Experience operating heavy plant machinery in an industrial or construction setting
• Strong awareness of site safety, signalling, and communication
• Ability to work independently and follow site instructions
• Good reliability and timekeeping
• A CSCS card is preferred but not essential
• Fit for work and comfortable with physical, fast-paced environments
