Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking an Environmental Operations operative to collect household waste and recycling across the borough, using wheeled bins and sacks while adhering to safety protocols. You will assist in rectifying missed collections and follow the service’s procedures to ensure efficient operations.

The role requires a flexible approach, good English communication, and the ability to travel. It is a 39-hour per week post with a strong benefits package and supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and customer service standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English with customers.
• Flexible and reliable with a willingness to travel across the borough.

Responsibilities

• Collect household waste and recycling using wheeled bins, sacks and other systems.
• Assist in completing missed or assisted collections per service instructions.
• Follow policies, risk assessments and safe working practices at all times.
• Contribute to the efficient, courteous collection across the borough.
