Cheshire East Council is seeking an HGV Driver Loader to join our frontline waste and recycling teams. You will drive an HGV, lead a small crew, and ensure household waste and recycling are collected efficiently and safely in our borough.

This role combines driving with leadership, teamwork and customer-focused service, offering outdoor working conditions and a chance to contribute to environmental sustainability and community wellbeing.

Qualifications

• HGV licence with Driver CPC.
• Experience operating similar vehicles safely and professionally.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team on site.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate an HGV vehicle and lead the collection crew.
• Carry out essential safety checks on vehicles.
• Manage routes, missed/assisted collections and adapt to changes.
