Job summary

Veolia Basildon Transfer Station is seeking a Plant Operative to operate the required plant equipment involved in handling, sorting and transferring waste. The Basildon site runs 07:00–17:00 with a 50-hour week and shift patterns 06:00–14:00 or 14:00–22:00.

You will contribute to waste processing and environmental initiatives while joining a respected national company. The role requires forklift qualification, shovel licence, 360 grab license, weighbridge knowledge, teamwork, and a full UK

Qualifications

• Forklift qualification is essential.
• Shovel licence is essential.
• 360 grab license is essential.
• Knowledge of weighbridge systems is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team is essential.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the yard area is kept clean.
• Marshalling vehicle movement around the site at busy times.
• Assist site supervisor in day-to-day running of site operations.
