Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a Waste Operator on a 12-month contract in the United Kingdom. The role is paid at up to £47 per hour and requires the ability to obtain SC clearance and a B1 Forklift Truck Licence.

The position involves safe operation of plant equipment, waste sorting, sampling and processing, with a focus on compliance and quality. You will contribute to continuous improvement, support training of others, and perform site inspections and administrative verifications to ensure adherence

Qualifications

• Requires B1 Forklift Truck Licence.
• Experience with waste handling and plant operations is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe operations in line with SSOW and company instructions.
• Operate plant equipment to ensure on-time delivery to programmes.
• Contribute to improvement projects and maintain high attention to detail for inspection, storage and processing of radioactive materials.
• Assist in training others to appropriate standards where applicable.
• Perform routine plant inspections and carry out waste management activities (sorting, segregating, sampling, assay/characterisation, processing, collection/transport).
• Complete self-verification of procedures and documentation for Waste Operations.
• Record events and inspections and input to operating instructions to support Waste Operations.

Job Purpose

- Carry out safe operations in accordance with SSOW and company/operating instructions
- Operate plant equipment in order to ensure delivery to programmes
- Active involvement in improvement projects / initiatives
- Work to a high quality of attention to detail to ensure compliant inspection, storage and processing of radioactive materials with relation to Operations and its associated operations.
- To contribute to the improvement of a safe environment / general housekeeping of the working area, particularly in their own area of responsibility.
- Where appropriate, assist in the training and development of others to appropriate standards.
- Complies with all legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures eg) safety, quality, risk, security etc applicable to the role.
- Operational day to day plant inspections.
- Carrying out waste management activities such as:
- Sorting
- Segregating
- Sampling
- Assay / Characterisation
- Processing
- Collection/transport

- Complete Self-verification of procedures / documentation applicable to Waste Operations.
- Carry out Observations and submit on Prevent.
- Input to Operating Instructions to support Waste Operations.
- Carry out Risk Assessment in support of Operating Instruction write up.
- Facilitate Plant visits within the Waste Management Facility.
- Record events, Self-Verifications and Workplace Inspections on Prevent.
