Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is seeking Waste Operative 1 to support Environmental Services with recycling and waste collection from domestic and council premises. The role involves outdoor work, walking long distances, and carrying out manual handling tasks.

You will remove large items and cleanse back alleys while ensuring health and safety regulations are followed at all times. Overtime, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, may be required; current hours Tue-Fri 06:45–16:30.

We have an exciting role on offer within our Environmental Services as a Waste Operative 1.

Middlesbrough Council Recycling and Waste services are looking for Waste Operatives to assist in keeping Middlesbrough clean.

If you are looking for a career working outdoors and walking long distances and are able to carry out manual handling tasks, then this maybe the job for you!

You will have a responsibility for collecting recycling and refuse waste from domestic and council premises. You will also be responsible for removing large items and cleansing back alleys.

You will ensure that the Health and Safety legislations are adhered to at all times.

The successful applicant will be required to work overtime as and when required including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holiday catchups.

Please note the current working days are from Tuesday – Friday from 06:45 am – 16:30 pm.
