Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for Permanent Waste Operatives to join our Surrey Account at the Elmbridge Depot (KT10 8AS).

The Role:

To collect refuse/recycling from residential properties and dispose of refuse in designated receptacles.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours across 5 days.

You will be responsible for:

• Waste management tasks and the overall cleanliness of the highways.
• Collecting and disposing of waste materials from streets, roads, and public areas in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operating waste collection vehicles and equipment according to safety guidelines.
• Monitoring and reporting any hazardous waste or illegal dumping activities to the relevant authorities.
• Ensuring that all waste is segregated and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Conducting routine maintenance checks on waste management equipment and reporting any faults or necessary repairs.
• Assisting in the planning and implementation of waste reduction initiatives and recycling programs.
