Durham County Council is seeking 3 Waste Operations Support Officers to work in the South and East of County Durham on a temporary basis until 1 June 2029. You will support the delivery of sustainable waste management, engage with residents and frontline crews, and help promote the council’s waste services.
Ideal candidates will have a valid driving licence, experience in public-facing roles and the ability to work independently as part of a team. Hybrid working arrangements may apply.

Refuse and Recycling are looking for 3 Waste Operations Support Officer to work in the South and East of County Durham.
You will support the delivery of sustainable waste management services across County Durham by working directly with residents, operational crews and stakeholders to improve participation, reduce contamination and resolve service issues.
You will support the rollout and ongoing delivery of the council’s food waste collection service, promote high quality refuse and recycling services, and provide advice and guidance to residents in relation to waste presentation, contamination and recycling participation.
