Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is recruiting for a Refuse Loader to join a busy waste management team based in Kendal, Cumbria. This is a physically demanding outdoor role involving collecting waste and loading it into a Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) as part of a fast-paced team.

Hours are 6:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime available on Saturdays. To succeed you should be reliable, punctual and capable of carrying out demanding manual work in all weather, with a willingness to work as

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Capable of manual handling and heavy lifting.
• Team player with good communication.
• Previous waste management or manual labour experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collect household and commercial waste from designated routes.
• Load waste and recycling into an RCV safely and efficiently.
• Extensive walking throughout shifts.
• Repetitive lifting and manual handling of bins and waste containers.
• Work closely with drivers and loaders to complete daily collections.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
• Assist with general yard and depot duties as required.
