Sefton Council is seeking a dedicated Waste Management operative to join our frontline Street Cleansing team in Sefton. You will drive and operate a large refuse collection vehicle on scheduled routes, perform daily checks, and work with loaders to ensure efficient collections.

This is a physically active outdoor role requiring teamwork and customer-focused service. Applicants should be committed to safety and high standards, capable of independent work and strong collaboration within the team.

Qualifications

• Safe driving and operation of a refuse vehicle on scheduled routes.
• Daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Teamwork with loaders and supervisors to achieve high collection standards.
• Safe handling of waste containers and customer service.
• Outdoor role in all weather conditions.

Responsabilités

• Drive and operate an RCV on scheduled routes.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Work closely with loaders and supervisors to complete collections to a high standard.
• Handle bins, bags, and waste containers safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, traffic laws, and service procedures and report any accidents.
• Provide polite and professional customer service to members of the public.
• Support additional tasks such as food waste, bulky waste, or street cleansing when required.
