Thurrock Council is seeking a Waste Collection Assistant to join the Waste & Recycling Team on a permanent basis. The role requires reliable, self-motivated individuals with good communication and customer service skills to engage with colleagues and the public in a polite, professional manner.
You will work as part of a small crew, handling refuse, recycling, garden and food waste, using cab devices, and performing heavy manual labour.
Salary: £27,435 - £29,715 per annum

We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated individual to join the Waste & Recycling Team as a Waste Collection Assistant.
As a Waste Collection Assistant of a small crew, you will have good communication and customer service skills to enable you to engage with colleagues and members of the public in a polite and professional manner.
You must be a team player, quick learner and able to carry out a range of duties including: Use of the vehicles in cab devices, moving, handling and loading of refuse , recycling, garden and food waste. You will be expected to to work with minimum supervision.
The work involves operating machinery and heavy manual labour therefore you must be physically fit and mobile.
