Job summary

Holcim in Bardon Hill, Coalville is seeking a Wash plant operative to support a new project. Training will start on the day shift, with progression to afternoons and nights as you gain competence. The role focuses on operating and maintaining the wash plant, with emphasis on fault finding, product quality, and safe procedures.

The position offers training duration of 6–12 months with possible extension or permanent placement based on performance. Immediate start ASAP (1–2 weeks) is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Previous experience as a machine operator.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of isolation procedures.
• Experience in a mineral washing plant (desirable).
• Strong IT literacy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Great attention to detail.
• Open to change, new processes and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining the wash plant.
• Basic fault finding.
• Monitor product quality.
• Check all production belts are working correctly.
• Basic housekeeping, cleaning and maintaining machinery and working area.
• Communicating with internal and external contacts in a clear and efficient manner.
