Job summary

Aspire People Limited in Rugby is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school. You will work closely with pupils who have complex additional needs, providing focused support and helping them access learning in a calm, structured environment.

The role is full-time with ASAP start. Ideal candidates are patient, reliable and able to build trusting relationships with pupils, teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs.

Qualifications

• Patient, compassionate approach to supporting pupils.
• Excellent communication with pupils, teachers and parents.
• Resilient and able to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Experience in SEND or youth work is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated support to pupils with complex SEND.
• Working with individuals and small groups to encourage participation.
• Helping students manage their emotions and develop positive behaviours.
• Supporting learning activities and adapting tasks where necessary.
• Encouraging communication and independence.
• Developing positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
