Job summary

Canterbury City Council seeks a WHLG Project Officer to support delivery of a government programme across the Canterbury District, assessing eligibility and coordinating with the delivery partner ARAN insulation to retrofit homes.

The role offers hybrid working, a 37-hour week, and a strong focus on climate action, energy policy and customer engagement, with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Awareness of climate change and energy policy/delivery and energy-saving retrofitting approaches and standards (e.g. PAS 2035).
• Knowledge of project management techniques.
• Experience of project management, controls and data management, risk management and reporting.
• DBS check required for pre-employment clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the WHLG programme across the Canterbury District.
• Review applications and undertake eligibility assessments per WHLG guidance.
• Communicate with customers, contractors, partners and applicants to assist eligibility checks.
• Support data collection, collation and reporting for DESNZ and Canterbury City Council.
• Manage WHLG records, tracking progress, expenses and financial transactions.
• Support compliance with WHLG guidance and monitor risks with the project governance.
