Job summary

Kamsons Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated team member to join our busy pharmacy team. This role requires concentration and accuracy in labeling, dispensing and endorsing prescriptions, with a focus on safe medicine storage and efficient stock management.

Previous pharmacy experience is an advantage, with NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant training available for the right person. You will work Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00, with alternate Saturdays 09:00–17:30, in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Pharmacy experience is an advantage with an NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant Course, but training will be provided for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Label, dispense and endorse prescriptions in accordance with procedures accurately.
• Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.
• Order sufficient medication and stock to meet customer demand and check dates to maximise availability and minimise waste.
• Create and update patient medication records with data protection in mind to ensure confidentiality.
• Assist with preparation of monitored dosage systems for patients on multiple medications.
• Check endorsements and patient declarations on prescriptions and file to maximise payments and minimise losses.
• Process invoices and paperwork following company procedures.
• Maintain dispensary and back shop areas clean and tidy.
• Work as part of a team and support the business objectives.
• Participate in additional services (stop smoking advice, blood pressure testing, etc.) with training.

You must be able to work and communicate as part of a team in a busy fast paced environment be able to prioritise a varied workload and effectively multi-task.

Previous Pharmacy experience is an advantage with an NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant Course, but we are willing to provide training for the right person with a positive attitude to starting a career in pharmacy.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Label, dispense and endorse prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures in an efficient and accurate manner.

Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.

Ordering sufficient medication and stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand and date/usage checking to maximise availability and minimise waste.

Create and update patient medication records in accordance with data protection principles to ensure patient confidentiality.

Assist where necessary with the preparation of monitored dosage systems to benefit patients on multiple medication regimes.

Check endorsements and patient declarations on prescriptions and file correctly to ensure maximum payments are received with minimal losses.

Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.

Undertake all necessary housekeeping duties so that dispensary and back shop areas are kept clean and tidy.

Work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.

Participate in the delivery of any additional services (stop smoking advice, blood pressure testing etc) for which you will have received adequate training.

Monday to Friday 10.00am – 7.00pm and alternate Saturdays 9.00am – 5.30pm
