Job summary

Kamsons Pharmacy in Eastbourne is seeking a part-time pharmacist assistant for a maternity cover on a fixed-term contract. You will label, dispense and endorse prescriptions, ensure safe storage and accurate records, and support a busy team in a friendly, professional environment.

Training will be provided for the right candidate, with NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant considered advantageous. Hours are Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 8.30am–1.00pm and alternate Saturdays 9.00am–1.00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Label, dispense and endorse prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.
  • Ordering sufficient medication and stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand and date/usage checking to maximise availability and minimise waste.
  • Create and update patient medication records in accordance with data protection principles to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Assist with preparation of monitored dosage systems for patients on multiple medication regimes.
  • Check endorsements and patient declarations on prescriptions and file correctly to ensure maximum payments.
  • Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.
  • Undertake housekeeping duties to keep dispensary and back shop areas clean and tidy.
  • Work as part of a team and actively support the overall business objectives.
  • Deliver additional services (stop smoking advice, blood pressure testing) after training.

An excellent opportunity to work as part of our dedicated and hardworking pharmacy team. To provide a friendly, caring and professional service to our customers. This is a responsible position that requires concentration and a good eye for detail as accuracy is important. You must be able to work and communicate as part of a team in a busy fast paced environment be able to prioritise a varied workload and effectively multi-task.

Previous Pharmacy experience is an advantage with an NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant Course, but we are willing to provide training for the right person with a positive attitude to starting a career in pharmacy.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Label, dispense and endorse prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures in an efficient and accurate manner.

Maternity cover – fixed term contract:

working hours – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am – 1.00pm and alternate Saturdays 9.00am – 1.00pm
