Job summary

NES Fircroft is recruiting a Warehouse & Yard Operator for a leading energy industry client in Portlethen, Aberdeen. This 12-month contract could go permanent for the right candidate.

Role covers receiving, storing, preserving, managing inventory, and dispatching equipment. You will operate forklifts, perform counts, and ensure quality and safety standards are met throughout the warehouse and yard operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience required.
• Experience in both warehouse and yard operations is essential.
• Experience using SAP and/or Oracle inventory systems.
• Valid Forklift certificates (B1, B2 and B3) are required.
• Valid 12-Ton Forklift Certificate is required.
• Dangerous Goods Awareness certification is required.
• Dangerous Goods Shipping by Air and Sea certification is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, move, and dispatch inventory and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment within the warehouse and yard.
• Perform inventory counts, asset verification, and system transactions using SAP and/or Oracle.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely completion of warehouse transactions.
• Support logistics, workshop, and service delivery teams to facilitate on‑time shipments and deliveries.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment in line with HSE requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, Lean, and 6S initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Warehouse & Yard Operator

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse & Yard Operator to join a leading energy industry client in Portlethen, Aberdeen. This is an initial 12-month contract with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

About the Role

The Warehouse & Yard Operator will support day-to-day warehouse and yard activities, including receiving, storing, preserving, managing, and dispatching inventory and equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring safe material handling practices, and supporting efficient warehouse operations while adhering to HSE and quality standards.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience.
• Previous experience working in both warehouse and yard operations.
• Experience using SAP and/or Oracle inventory management systems.
• Valid B1, B2, and B3 Forklift Certificates.
• Valid 12-Ton Forklift Certificate.
• Dangerous Goods Awareness certification.
• Dangerous Goods Shipping by Air and Sea certification.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to safely lift and handle materials and equipment up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Preferred

• Current and valid certifications (non-expired) are highly preferred.
• Experience within the oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.

This role requires a well-rounded Warehouse & Yard Operator, not solely a forklift driver. Candidates should demonstrate hands‑on experience across warehouse operations, inventory control, yard activities, material movements, and logistics coordination.
