Job summary

Osborne Appointments is seeking a Warehouse Manager in Welwyn Garden City to oversee day-to-day transport and warehouse operations, leading drivers and warehouse staff. The role emphasizes safety, stock control, and efficient logistics.

You will coordinate deliveries, manage rotas, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvements across warehousing activities. A strong focus on staff development and health & safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supervising transport and warehouse operations.
• Experience coordinating drivers,delivery schedules and vehicle maintenance.
• Good understanding of tachograph records and EU and GB drivers' hours regulations.
• Experience overseeing warehouse operations including Goods In/Out and stock control.
• Health & Safety procedures and warehouse compliance knowledge.
• Experience managing, training and supporting a team.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Organising drivers' rotas, delivery schedules and daily transport operations.
• Monitor drivers' worksheets, tachograph records and hours; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Arrange vehicle servicing and maintenance; keep fleet roadworthy.
• Oversee loading/unloading; address weight/capacity issues.
• Manage Goods In and Goods Out; ensure accurate booking and processing.
• Oversee stock control, rotation, replenishment and overflow storage.
• Monitor customer collections and special orders for prompt handling.
• Maintain site security, warehouse housekeeping and Health & Safety standards.
• Conduct regular building checks, weekly fire alarm tests and forklift checks.
• Support ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 procedures and continuous improvements.
• Manage staff rotas, holidays, sickness, overtime; provide training and appraisals.
