Warehouse Technician – Huntingdon
A great opportunity to work as a Warehouse Technician for our client who are one of the UK's leading suppliers of fresh flowers and plants, providing high-quality bouquets, plants, and gifting products to major supermarket chains and retailers across the country.
Staffline are recruiting for Warehouse Technicians in Huntingdon.
The hours of work are 4 on 4 off:
- 7am to 7:30pm (40.25 hours per week)
The rate of pay is £14.29 per hour.
Overtime is paid at £17.86 per hour.
Your Time at Work
As a Warehouse Technician your role will include:
- Monitor and operate the automated palletising system to ensure it runs safely, efficiently, and supports continuous warehouse operations.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning sensors, checking air pressures, conducting visual equipment inspections, and completing safety checks.
- Identify and resolve basic faults, clear system jams, remove debris, and escalating more complex technical issues to the Engineering team when required.
- Monitor and replenish consumables such as stretch wrap and label reels to maintain smooth operation of the automated equipment.
- Accurately record faults, maintenance activities, and corrective actions while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and SOP development.
- Work closely with Warehouse and Engineering teams to minimise downtime and ensure production targets are achieved.
What we're looking for:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods during shifts.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform light to moderate manual handling tasks, including clearing jams, removing debris, and replenishing consumables.
- Ability to work around automated machinery while following strict health and safety procedures.
- Willingness to work a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern on either days or nights
- Basic mechanical or technical understanding of machinery, equipment, or automation systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and respond quickly.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing operational demands.
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards of performance and safety.
- Good level of English and Maths.
- Basic computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and warehouse systems.
- A mechanical, engineering, or technical qualification would be advantageous but is not required.
- Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures within a warehouse environment.
