Job summary

Staffline is currently recruiting for a Technical Operator at our site in Worksop. The role operates on rotational shifts: 6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm and 10pm–6am, with overtime opportunities available.

The job offers a temp-to-perm pathway and on-site staff support, with a canteen and PPE provided on site. The successful candidate will ensure production targets are met, adhere to quality and safety standards, and maintain accurate paperwork and stock control.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar production/operator role preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work to targets.
• Knowledge of HACCP and GMP advantageous.
• Flexibility for rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate production line and meet targets.
• Follow site strategy and contribute to the plan.
• Carry out checks to ensure line runs at optimum settings.
• Use fault finding skills to maintain smooth operation.
• Report faults on equipment and manage basic maintenance issues.
• Maintain stock levels with proper traceability.
• Complete paperwork and related systems accurately.
• Support other departments and overtime when needed.

A great opportunity to work as a Technical Operator for our clients site based in Worksop.

The hours of work are: Rotational shifts

• 6am to 2pm
• 2pm to 10pm
• 10pm to 6am

The rate of pay is:

• Pre 12 weeks Monday to Friday - £17.02
• Pre 12 weeks OT Mon-Sat - £20.32
• Pre 12 weeks OT Sun - £23.62
• Post 12 weeks Monday to Friday
• post 12 weeks OT Mon-Sat - £26.20
• post 12 weeks OT Sun - £33.66

Your Time at Work

During your time as a Technical Operator your role will cover:

Safety:

• Understand and follow all Company Safety Procedures and adhere to processes, procedures and guidelines that are in place, including and not limited to: Personal Protective Equipment; accident/ incident reporting; first aid; manual handling ALARP (Risk Assessment) and evacuation procedures. - Challenge non-compliance to H&S and raise when necessary and/ or speak to a Safety Representative.
• Understand and apply correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Identify safety hazards and potential issues on the line.
• Be able to identify and safely use stop buttons.
• Have an awareness of COSHH.
• Direct responsibility for other people's safety.

Production:

• Participate in the successful running of the production line in order to meet targets.
• Have awareness of business demands and an understanding of the site strategy and how the team fits into the long-term plan.
• Carry out checks to ensure line runs at optimum settings and actively seek ways to improve performance.
• Contribute to the decision-making process.
• Support the successful running of the production line in order to meet targets.
• Understand and meet output targets through monitoring production and attending to any basic line maintenance issues
• Use fault finding skills to ensure smooth and efficient operation of work area and source preventative measures
• Understand the running of the line and the names and roles of the main pieces of equipment, as well as being able to identify and report faults on equipment.
• Use of forklift trucks as required and always in a safe manner.
• Work with colleagues to achieve the daily planning schedule and service other department's requirements.
• Ensure accurate stock levels are maintained by following operational procedures including ensuring appropriate stock rotation and traceability.
• Check and accurately complete required paperwork or related systems as necessary.
• Carry out any reasonable management request

Quality:

• Understand and apply the Company Quality standards and practices that are in place including and not limited to: jewellery, glass and glass/like materials policy. (The quality responsibilities of all operators are outlined in the Corporate Technical Standards (CTS)).
• Be able to complete running checks on the line i.e. checking product codes and seals, product quality and allergen control. Report quality issues to line manager.
• Apply personal hygiene standards at all times.
• Maintain departmental GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and general hygiene standards at all times.
• Maintain good housekeeping ensuring that the work area is always clean; tools are correctly cleaned and stored; spillages are cleaned up immediately and defects reported.
• Have an awareness of HACCP.
