Job summary

Recruit4staff are representing a leading distribution company in their search for a Warehouse Team Leader to work in their facility in Telford. The role leads a team through picking, packing and replenishment to ensure orders are accurate and on time.

The role is permanent with a salary up to £28,000 per annum DOE and a start time of 6:00 AM, with flexibility for 8:00 AM or 10:00 AM shifts. Overtime is available after 39 hours, and there is free parking.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
• Must have experience in a fast moving environment.
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and problem solving skills.
• MHE knowledge.
• Experience working to KPIs and operational targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the warehouse team across picking, packing and replenishment.
• Supervise a team of around 10-15 operatives.
• Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
• Monitor and improve OTIF performance and customer service levels.
• Plan and utilise warehouse resources effectively, including forklift truck utilisation.
• Identify and investigate picking errors and implement improvements to prevent repeat issues.
• Deliver regular team briefings, one-to-ones and performance reviews.
• Coach, motivate and develop members of the warehouse team.
• Support employee relations processes, including investigations and disciplinary procedures.
• Promote a positive and high-performing working environment.
• Ensure all warehouse activities are carried out in line with company policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement and the implementation of best-practice warehouse processes.
• Work closely with the Warehouse Management Team to achieve operational and customer service objectives.

For the successful Warehouse Team Leader, our client is offering:

• Up to £28,000 per annum DOE
• 6:00 AM to 2:15 PM (must be flexible to sometimes work 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:15 PM)
• Permanent
• Plenty of overtime available after 39 hours are worked (Time and a third in the week, Time and a half on Saturdays and Double time on Sundays!)
• Free parking - Our client is accessible via public transport

The role - Warehouse Team Leader:

• Lead and supervise the warehouse team across picking, packing and replenishment activities.
• Supervise a team of around 10-15 operatives
• Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
• Manage replenishment of picking locations to meet operational demand.
• Monitor and improve OTIF (On Time In Full) performance and customer service levels.
• Monitor team productivity and performance against agreed KPIs and operational targets.
• Plan and utilise warehouse resources effectively, including forklift truck utilisation.
• Identify and investigate picking errors and implement improvements to prevent repeat issues.
• Deliver regular team briefings, one-to-ones and performance reviews.
• Coach, motivate and develop members of the warehouse team.
