Warehouse Team Leader Job Description

Baltic Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Permanent Warehouse Team Leader for a client located in Kirbymoorside, North Yorkshire. The role involves leading the activities of the Warehouse and Distribution department, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory. The position is crucial for maintaining productivity, optimizing workflows, and ensuring safety compliance using MRP systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Direct the activities of warehouse personnel, coordinating with production, procurement, and sales departments.
2. Implement continuous improvements within the department.
3. Ensure all tasks comply with health and safety regulations.
4. Manage the safe storage and handling of materials.
5. Respond to stock and kitting inquiries across the business.
6. Control stock adjustments within authorized limits and manage transport logistics related to warehousing.
7. Maintain inventory accuracy through perpetual stock counting and record keeping.
8. Perform manual and clerical work related to departmental operations.
9. Complete necessary documentation, including timesheets and quality reports.
10. Provide weekly/monthly KPI reports.
11. Review and improve processes regularly.

Accountabilities and Deliverables

• Ensure accurate data entry into MRP systems.
• Maintain FIFO principles during picking and despatch.
• Ensure safe and proper packaging for outbound goods, including hazardous materials.
• Perform ad-hoc driving duties as required.
• Achieve measurable improvements in process efficiency and output.
• Conduct cyclic stock counts to ensure inventory compliance.

Applicants Qualifications and Skills

Desirable Education/Qualifications: NVQ in stores and warehousing, secondary education preferred.

Technical Skills: Accuracy, teamwork, numeracy, IT proficiency, MRP experience.

Key Skills: Motivator, negotiator, detail-oriented, team player, full UK driving license.

Experience: At least 3 years in leadership, 5 years in warehousing, SME manufacturing environment, handling equipment.

QHSE Competencies
