Job summary

Thorn Baker Recruitment have the exciting opportunity to recruit a Warehouse Team Lead for our client based in the Lutterworth area of Leicestershire.

The role leads daily warehouse operations, ensuring stock is received, stored, picked, packed and dispatched safely and efficiently, with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement. Salary is £35,000 per annum, 42.5 hours per week, plus private health care and generous annual leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Experience coordinating day-to-day warehouse operations.
• Strong understanding of inventory management.
• Knowledge of safe manual handling and health and safety requirements.
• Experience using WMS and handheld scanners.
• Experience in a Team Leader or Senior Warehouse role.
• Experience handling large, heavy or fragile products.
• Experience working with Lean, 5S or continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily warehouse activities to meet operational priorities.
• Allocate workloads and monitor progress across shifts.
• Ensure daily productivity and service targets are met.
• Escalate operational issues, resource constraints or service risks to the DC Manager.
• Support effective communication between warehouse colleagues, drivers and other departments.
• Oversee the safe receipt, storage, movement and preparation of stock.
• Ensure accurate picking, packing and loading of customer orders.
• Maintain stock accuracy through routine checks and cycle counts.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture across the warehouse.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to warehouse colleagues.
• Assist with the induction and on-the-job training of new employees.
• Encourage teamwork, accountability and high standards of performance.
