SMT Recruitment is seeking an hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager in Letchworth to support daily warehouse operations. You will work with the Warehouse Manager to lead the team, plan workloads and ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately.

Ideal candidates have warehouse supervisory or team-leader experience, thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to quality, safety and process standards like BRCGS.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising or leading a warehouse team.
• Ability to motivate and manage a team to meet deadlines.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with IT proficiency.
• Commitment to quality, safety and compliance standards (e.g., BRCGS).
• Licence for forklift operations (Counterbalance and Flexi).
• Experience in packaging, manufacturing or logistics environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the Warehouse Manager with daily warehouse operations.
• Lead, motivate and support the warehouse team.
• Plan workloads to meet customer deadlines.
• Ensure stock is received, stored and dispatched accurately.
• Maintain stock accuracy and traceability.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, safe warehouse.
• Provide cover for the Warehouse Manager when required.
• Follow company procedures and BRCGS standards.
• Maintain housekeeping and hygiene standards.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Identify and report quality or compliance issues.
