Job summary

AMA Admin in Horsham is seeking a proactive Warehouse Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations. The role covers safety, quality, and site management for a hands-on professional who can work with sales teams to meet customer requirements.

With 39.5 hours per week and a negotiable salary, you will drive improvements, train staff, and maintain records while ensuring compliant operations and strong teamwork in a busy warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse, logistics or industrial environments.
  • Supervisory or management background; Team Lead stepping up considered.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
  • Familiar with quality, health & safety audits and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the warehouse.
  • Ensure the warehouse operates safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
  • Manage and monitor Health & Safety across the site, including regular site audits, risk assessments and safe working practices.
  • Ensure staff are appropriately trained and competent in the use of work equipment, with training records maintained.
  • Arrange servicing, inspections and maintenance of work equipment and ensure any defective equipment is removed from use.
  • Maintain and manage quality and compliance records, ensuring corrective actions are followed through.
  • Support the company's Quality Management Systems and ensure procedures are understood and followed.
  • Monitor stock integrity, goods-in processes, picking, packing and despatch procedures.
  • Ensure customer requirements are met in terms of quality, quantity and delivery.
  • Work closely with the sales team and wider business to resolve issues and maintain excellent customer service.
  • Lead toolbox talks, staff meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, safety, quality and overall site performance.
  • Support the management of transport operations, including vehicle checks, load security, driver compliance and documentation.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management and employee development.
  • Take responsibility for general site management, including contractors, security, fire safety, waste management and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate reports and records and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative and safety-focused working environment.

Are you an experienced Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor looking for a varied role with autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact?

Our client, a UK leading metal stockholder, is looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor to take responsibility for the day to day running of the warehouse, Health & Safety, quality, compliance and general site management.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands on position and wants to take ownership of a key area of the business. The role would suit an experienced Warehouse Team Leader looking to take the next step in their career, as well as an established Warehouse Supervisor or Manager with strong operational experience.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience in a supervisory or management position; a Team Leader looking to step up into a Warehouse Supervisor/Manager role will be considered.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety, risk assessments and safe working practices.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • FLT experience is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail with good numerical and organisational skills.
  • Computer literate and comfortable maintaining records and producing reports.
